Hi! I’m Morgan Traud (rhymes with Proud!), and in an ideal world I would be the next horror movie scream queen :)
In the meantime, I am an actor based in NYC. I fell in love with theatre after seeing Beauty and the Beast at four years old (wearing a Princess Belle dress, duh!), and I fell in love with performing after learning the choreography to “The Wells Fargo Wagon” at ten.
As an artist, I strive to showcase feminine strength. We as women have so much power in our joy, our sadness, our anger, and our vulnerability. We radiate resilience in both our loud and quiet moments. No matter the project, I want to be dynamic, grounded, and bring a sense of focus and play into the room.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, I trained at the CLO Academy, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, and the Center for Theater Arts. In 2019, I won Best Actress at the CLO’s Gene Kelly Awards and went to the Jimmy Awards for my portrayal of the title role in Mame.
I am a recent graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre from LIU Post. As a Suzuki trained actor, my training places an emphasis on physical text analysis. I have been so fortunate to be a part of multiple devised and original works such as the documentary styled One More Thing Not to Think About: A Sondheim Project and the world premiere of 5 Jews in a Near Death Experience (that shockingly has nothing to do with antisemitism!).
Other than theatre, my loves include my pittie mix Toby (affectionately named after the Sweeney Todd character), horror films, Stephen King novels, Greta Van Fleet, and root beer.

I want to play a game.
Catch me as Jigsaw/Amanda/Ali in Saw the Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw traveling around the country this summer for its first National Tour!
I was previously with Saw's
Off-Broadway run.
